"Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends."
-Walt Disney
Walt Disney was a master at creating an experience for people that they would never forget. It's why so many people dream about going there. It's why people tell their friends and family about their experience. It's about customer service. One of our priorities at Foster this year is Professional and Respectful Customer Service at All Levels.
In last year's school climate survey, 92% of parents indicated that they felt our school was doing a good job of being available, courteous, and professional when responding to concerns. We want to lean in to that strength, and do our best to ensure that our entire Foster community feels the same way. I will continue to include a link to a short two question survey each week in this newsletter. The feedback is anonymous, but if you'd like to be contacted please either leave your name and contact information in the comments, or contact your child's assistant principal directly.
Congratulations to Cooper McGraner for qualifying for the State Cross Country meet! He will run on Friday in Round Rock. Our band also qualified for State this weekend at Freedom Field at the UIL regional marching competition with an amazing 3rd place finish! They will travel to the Alamodome in San Antonio to compete on November 9th. Foster continues to provide outstanding opportunities for our scholars, artists, and athletes.
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable Halloween.. It's hard to believe but Monday begins the 3rd six-weeks grading cycle! Please be sure to check grades and stay on top of your work. The end of the semester will be here before you know it.
Course selection for next school year is coming soon. Students - information about this process will be shared during Advisory period this Friday, November 6th and again on Friday, November 13th. Ninth graders will attend an information during English classes on Wednesday, November 4th, and tenth and eleventh graders will receive this information during their English classes on November 11th.
Just a few reminders the week:
- Classes begin at 8:25 sharp. Please arrive well before that to avoid being late to class. Tardy sweeps have begun. Getting caught in a sweep without a pass will result in Saturday detention. Please be on time!
- Keep those phones and electronics away. So far students are doing a great job with this!
- Dress for success. Be aware that shorts and skirt must be of an appropriate length (at least 3 inches below the inseam). Students out of dress code may be subject to warnings, detention, or ISS.
Please review the information in this week's newsletter. Should you still have additional questions, do not hesitate to contact your child's assistant principal or counselor as listed below. Together we SOAR!
