The Foster High School Chess Club meets twice a month to give students a fun and supportive space to learn and enjoy the game of chess. During meetings, members practice strategic thinking, problem‑solving, patience, and sportsmanship as they play friendly matches and learn new techniques. Students also strengthen skills such as planning ahead, recognizing patterns, making thoughtful decisions under pressure, and reflecting on their choices to improve future gameplay. The club welcomes players of all experience levels and encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and a love of learning through the challenge of chess.
